Dr. Dana Shumate started his practice so he could provide comprehensive dental care to his community. He enjoys spending time with each guest, creating a personalized treatment plan that suits their needs. He is also proud of his dental team, unsurpassed in quality of care.
A West Virginia University School of Dentistry graduate, Dr. Dana Shumate pursues extensive postdoctoral studies in clinical dentistry, focusing on cosmetic, implant, and family dentistry. He has presented research across the country, receiving recognition from the Hinman Dental Society and The American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiologists.
Dr. Shumate frequently takes advanced education classes at the prestigious Kois Institute in Seattle. He enjoys blending the art and science of dentistry to improve patients’ smiles in his state-of-the-art dental office.

Anyone who’s ever been to PNFD knows how great they are:) the front desk/admin ladies are amazing and always so sweet. The hygienist are also top notch and super informative. My 11 yo just had an appointment today and when we left she herself said, “I love coming here, I always get the best hygienist.” Dr. Shumate is quick but extremely efficient and always prepared to answer any questions. I’d recommend them to anyone!
